OMT-9000 Platform Design
fonYou’s Online Mobile Telephony or OMT-9000 Platform is the technological core of the different
turnkey solutions that fonYou offers to mobile operators.
With the deployment of the OMT-9000 Platform operators can add true Web 2.0 telephony functionalities to their service portfolio, based on fonYou’s innovative Online Mobile Telephony Services.
The OMT-9000 Platform is a proven, carrier-grade solution, is being used by fonYou in its own MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) in Spain and is currently being deployed in several MNOs (Mobile Network Operators) around the world.
The following figure provides a conceptual view of how the OMT-9000 Platform is integrated with the technical infrastructure of mobile operators.
Layered Architecture
The OMT-9000 Platform has been designed using a layered architecture where each layer provides differentiated services. These layers are: Core Services Layer (CSL), Web Services Layer (WSL) and User Services Layer (USL).
The CSL layer handles the core telecommunication services and is further subdivided into two domains: The SIP Domain (the platform uses SIP natively) and the Applications Server Domain.

SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) Domain: In charge of anything related to user communications. Provides the Intelligent Network (IN)
functionality as well as signalling for calls received by the OMT-9000 Platform that have to access Value Added Services such as VMS (voicemail).
Applications Server Domain: Manages all internal flows between the different OMT-9000 systems.
The Web Services Layer (WSL) is where the OMT-9000 Platform's applications such as Activity Register or Online Address Book reside. These applications or web services get their data from and communicate with the CSL in real time via a set of internal interfaces (CSL interfaces).
Finally, the User Services Layer (USL) resides in users’ access devices (computer, smartphone, tablet). That means that most of the OMT-9000 Platform applications are executed locally on these access devices without the need of accessing the WSL services except for modifying or downloading data. The USL communicates with the WSL in real time via a set of internal interfaces (WSL interfaces).
